WHAT IS YONI STEAMING?
Yoni steaming is a traditional herbal steam ritual. Herbs are infused in hot water, the steam is allowed to cool to a comfortable warmth, and you sit above the rising steam so the gentle heat can surround you. This practice is experiencing a resurgence in popularity in the US but obstetricians and gynecologists remain largely unfamiliar with the practice and are unequipped to provide informed advice to their patients on its safety and efficacy. Yoni steaming has a lengthy and well-documented history throughout Africa, Eurasia, Oceania and the Americas. When should I steam and for how long?
-You should steam the week before or the week after your menses. You can steam for 20-30 minutes at a time, 2-3 days consecutively. -
How many steams do I get out of one bag?
-Using 1-2 tbsp per session, you'll be able to steam 3-4 times a month for 6 months. If you are using it for 30-40 days consecutively for postpartum, the herbs may be reused 2-3 times before refreshing.
